Why should I attend this class?
Get the most from Data Guard
Build the foundation you need to plan, deploy, and operate successful and reliable Data Guard solutions...
You'll learn how to prepare the environment, create configurations, manage day-to-day operations, troubleshoot issues, and maximize the capacity and efficiency of standby databases. The class goes beyond the vanilla recipes with proven, practical approaches to real-world Data Guard problems, including solutions for large databases, low-bandwidth and high-latency networks, application continuity, and migration.
Solve tough performance challenges
You'll learn practical strategies and skills for tuning and troubleshooting redo transport and apply this beating...
...heart of Data Guard ensuring healthy and stress-free operations! We'll also share methods of leveraging a standby database and maximizing value and capacity, with recipes for shifting reporting and batch activity away from the primary, performing backups at the standby, and using a snapshot standby to preview and validate application changes, patches, and upgrades.
Build robust and reliable systems
Database administrators often treat Data Guard environments as delicate, but disaster recovery...
...systems shouldn't be fragile flowers requiring special handling! They exist to minimize or eliminate disruptions from catastrophic events, and anything less hints at misconfiguration or uncertainty. This class will grow your Data Guard skills and confidence, allowing you to build truly dependable systems that perform in emergencies!
Prepare for when (not if!) disaster strikes
Failures rarely announce themselves and offer little time for anything but reaction. The time spent planning for...
...the inevitable is an investment made in your own future, and it pays dividends: faster resolution, lower stress, and attainable KPIs. This workshop covers technical approaches for hardening and streamlining Data Guard role transitions, covers preparations for improving the chances of success, and introduces the soft skills and approaches needed when navigating critical events.

Details:
Class Hours: There are 9 hours of live, interactive hands-on class training divided into three 3-hour sessions.
Skill Level: This class is for DBAs responsible for building and maintaining Data Guard environments. You will need a basic understanding of Data Guard and disaster recovery concepts.
Class Structure: OraPub believes you learn more when you freely and actively engage during the training. This is why each session is full of live demonstrations, lots of Q&A time and lots of hands-on action! If you miss a session, you are free to attend that session when the class is offered again.
Watching Recorded Sessions: Each session is recorded and used to create a unique web page just for your class. The recordings can be streamed using any device, but not downloaded. You can re-watch the videos as many times as you wish. The videos and your unique class web page will be available for three years!
Class Requirements:
You will need:
The ability to connect to the online training over the internet, hosted by Zoom. You do not need a microphone.
If you have any questions or issues, you can contact Sean directly.
